Work on April 11^th.

One crew completed drywall installation at NOFD Operator Tyronne Payton’s house.  If not for GBFD firefighters, this work would have been done only by Tyronne, his son and brother.  Most NOFD firefighters are working double-shifts, meaning 48 hours out of every three days.  Thus, the 1500 square foot first floor would have taken weeks to complete.  Now that the first floor has drywall, Tyronne believes he can achieve his goal of moving back into his home at the end of this month.

A second crew replaced drywall damaged from rainfall after the roof was partially blown off by hurricane wind.  The home is owned by NOFD Public Information Officer Greg Davis.
